Requirements

To be a good fit for this opportunity you should be a strong networker, with experience in relationship building and knowledge of wines. In addition, you will need to have:
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Persuasive public speaking and presentation skills and the ability to close deals
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PPT); experience using Diver would be helpful
  • Drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales opportunities are captured and explored
  • A professional demeanor, strong organization skill, and the ability to thrive in a highly competitive environment
  • The ability to make smart business decision based on growing sales, profitability and market shares
  • A high level of flexibility to work outside of normal business hours depending upon the needs of customers, and when required to attend evening or weekend functions
  • The ability to successfully complete a background check

Role Overview

We’re building out a top notch team of Sales Representatives to cover all of New York and New Jersey. Pricing and incentives are already set, but you’ll be a hunter, acting as the execution arm of the organization to sell our wholesale portfolio in your assigned territory. We offer top-notch, premier, California and Oregon winery products to restaurants and retailers. Whether you are coming in with contacts that you can leverage, or whether this is your first wine sales role, you’ll spend a good deal of your time calling on new customers to build your account base, and then working to maintain and grow those relationships.

To do this, you’ll need to present yourself as an expert. While we’ll help you to learn our portfolio, you’ll need to have some experience with a variety of wines from different suppliers and at a range of price points, whether that comes from working in restaurants or retail, or from experience in a similar sales role. Depending on your territory, you may also find that you’ll need to attend events later in the evening or on weekends to gain market share, which will require that you be flexible and enjoy socializing as part of your work in building relationships. Quick question for you - click here

Some of your specific tasks will be to:
  • Promote brands and increase brand awareness by increasing brand visibility and conducting staff training/ education programs within your accounts.
  • Develop new business relationships with decision makers while identifying potential customers and developing a business plan to reach them.
  • Ensure execution of the developed sales strategies, objectives, goals and targeted revenue generation by partnering with key retailers and establishments in your specified market.
  • Gain extensive knowledge of the company’s products including in-depth features and benefits of each compared to the competition.
  • Prepare professional sales presentations for each account, tailored to current supplier programs and the needs of the customer.
  • Learn about each customer’s business operations and coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling the company’s products to each.
  • Assist with planning for and participate in trade and consumer events, which may happen on nights and weekends.
  • Meet annual depletion, shipment, profit and performance goals.
